Goals

To standardize the approach to post-operative care for the adolescent receiving idiopathic spinal fusion resulting in:

  • Decreased length of stay
  • Optimized pain control
  • Optimized post-operative mobility

Metrics

  • Increase
    • Compliance with pain medication regimen
  • Decrease
    • Opioid use and pain scores
    • Time to achievement of PT goals
    • Overall length of stay
  • Balancing Measure
    • 30-day readmissions
    • 1-2 year readmissions for re-exploration of spinal fusions
