Inpatient Discharge Criteria

SPIT
S Saturation in room air > 90% awake or asleep by pulse oximetry
(Exception: cardiac anomaly)
P Pain adequately managed by oral medication
I Intake of food and/or liquids appropriate for weight without vomiting. If eating food, liquid intake is of less concern. Patient must either eat half of a normal meal with some fluid intake OR drink the amount below within a 12 hour shift.
T Taking medication given by parents. Parent demonstrates administration before discharge.
