Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) Clinical Pathway — CICU

POD 1 to Discharge

Hemodynamics
  • Convert to enteral diuretics
  • Echocardiogram before discharge
Respiratory
  • Goal: Room air within 48 hrs of extubation
  • Wean nasal cannula for Sp02 > 92%
Neurologic
  • Continue Video EEG monitoring for 48 hrs
  • If seizures, consult Neurology and refer for outpatient follow-up in Neuro Cardiac Care Program
Diagnostic Studies
  • CXR
    • POD 1
    • After removal of thoracic lines, drains
  • BMP, magnesium, phosphorus and CBC
    • POD 1
