Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre (DHCC)
This organization serves the Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing populations in the greater Philadelphia region and surrounding areas. Advocates for and promotes equal communication access, educational services, cultural awareness, and economic development.
Does my child need their balance tested (vestibular evaluation?)
If your child has delayed milestones (like sitting or walking late), frequent falls, dizziness or seems “off balance,” they may need a vestibular evaluation or “balance check.”
Hearing Loss and Driving
For D/HH individuals, learning to drive may present unique challenges. Depending on where you live, there may also be legal requirements for driving with hearing loss, such as notifying your state licensing agency.
Listening and Spoken Language Applications
The following apps may be trialed to support your child’s speech-language development. They are designed to be used in an interactive manner with an adult in order to facilitate increased engagement and meaningful learning opportunities. They are not intended to be independent or passive activities.
