  • Dr. Smith was amazing. She had recommendations we had not ever considered and was very thorough. Also, my child is 16 and she said she appreciated that Dr. Smith did not treat her like a child and got straight to the point. She also did not diminish how my child felt nor our concerns.

  • As this was our first visit for our first baby, my husband and I were nervous and unsure what to expect. Dr. Smith explained everything that she was doing during the visit, and then was extremely patient with us while we asked questions through sleep deprivation.

  • She is now our absolute favorite in that practice. We are going to be requesting her for our visits from now on.She not only listened to me and understood what I was saying, we had an actual conversation about what my concerns were for my daughter. She explained everything in a manner that made sense. My thoughts and questions were heard in their entirety and explained fully. One major attribute that stood out was that she interacted with my daughter so well. It was the first visit that I wasn't struggling to hear what the doctor was saying over my child's cries and left feeling frustrated, uneasy or confused. She acknowledged my daughter's crying and instead of talking over it, she was speaking to my daughter and engaging with her, finding things to distract her, all in an attempt to calm her down from the fear she was experiencing about being in the doctor's office. Considering the fact that we were at the doctor's office for an issue my daughter was having, I think it's the best visit had. I got in the car feeling relieved, thankful and clear about what is happening and the next steps. She is now our requested physician.

About the Patient Experience Rating System

The Patient Experience Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions shown above from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. We are committed to true transparency. However, to ensure the comments are fair and correctly attributed, we review each one before posting to the website. We exclude entire comments that disclose patient’s protected health information, are off-topic, or include other confidential or inappropriate content. Comments will appear on provider bios only if providers have a minimum number of comments. Comments are shared internally for education purposes to ensure that we are doing our very best for the patients and families for whom we are privileged to care. The comments are submitted by patients and families and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not reflect the views of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
