This course will provide a wide overview of complicated topics of atopic diseases. New therapeutics continue to become available and new indications and approvals have changed treatment options for patients. The course will review atopic diseases from perspectives of multidiscplinary specialists surrounding asthma and dermatitis. Participants will be offered a hands-on session with experts on managing allergic reactions as well as discuss difficult cases many clinicians face.
Objectives
- Define patients with atopic dermatitis who need additional evaluation.
- Describe how to incorporate omalizumab (xolair), the newly approved treatment, into the care of patients with food allergy.
- Describe concerning signs in a patient with a history of hives.
