Navigating the New Diagnosis of Food Allergy

Date:
May 3, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. (ET)

Navigating life when your child is newly diagnosed with a food allergy is challenging. Food is everywhere and ingrained in most of our social gatherings. To help parents, grandparents and caregivers of patients newly diagnosed with food allergies, CHOP’s Food Allergy Center sponsors regular workshops for newly diagnosed parents and families.

This virtual workshop will provide evidence-based information about how best to avoid food allergens, explore myths about food allergy, instructions on how best to read food labels to identify potential allergens, and how to prepare your family for any accidental exposures or allergic reactions. We’ll also review prevention strategies to ensure your child (and family) have healthy coping strategies to deal with this diagnosis.
