Richard D. Wood Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center
The Richard D. Wood Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center on the Philadelphia Campus of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is home to some outpatient specialty and imaging services. It is connected to inpatient facilities at CHOP’s Main Hospital, as well as outpatient services at Children’s Seashore House and Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care. Work is currently underway to replace the Wood Center with a New Patient Tower by 2028.
When You Arrive
To support construction of the New Patient Tower, the Main Entrance to the Wood Center and Wood Garage have been permanently closed. Families should park in either the Main Hospital Parking Garage “A Parking” or Buerger Center Parking Garage “B Parking”. Families should follow posted signage from these garages to assist with reaching their destination within the Wood Building. When entering the Wood Center, you will also be greeted by friendly staff who are eager to help you get to the correct location for your child’s appointment. Check-in for most clinics is now on the 2nd floor of the Wood Center, as is the connector to the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care, where many outpatient visits now take place.
Visitor Guidelines
To keep our patients, families and staff safe from COVID-19 and other respiratory viral infections like the flu, we continue to review and adjust our visitation policies. Please read these guidelines before coming to any CHOP location, and remember all eligible visitors are required to wear a mask at all times. Learn what you can expect when you visit CHOP during COVID-19.
Travel Advisory
Please allow for extra travel time to your appointments due to road closures and traffic congestion caused by multiple construction projects around CHOP and Penn. Please note, the Wood Garage is now fully closed. Refer here for the latest updates on parking at CHOP’s Philadelphia Campus.
