Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed an executive order announcing a new Office of Advocacy and Reform. The office aims to help Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable populations, including abused children. Cindy W. Christian, MD, and Philip V. Scribano, DO, MSCE, of Safe Place: The Center for Child Protection and Health were both named to the Council on Reform.

“It is an honor to serve with the Governor to help these children,” said Dr. Christian. “It is our goal to not only protect youth suffering from abuse, but to also prevent abuse and support those in need.”

Dr. Scribano adds, “The work of this Governor’s Council will help inform our policymakers on best practices to keep children safe.   With the Council’s broad-based expertise, for the purpose of protecting vulnerable populations, including children, our hope is that the Council’s recommendations will ultimately foster reforms that will accomplish our collective goals for children.”
