Gregory Davis, President and Chief Investment Officer of The Vanguard Group, has been named Chair of CHOP’s Board of Trustees, effective July 1, 2025. Mr. Davis joined the Board in 2018 and served as Vice Chair for five years. 

As Vanguard’s President and Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Davis is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s investment management and for overseeing enterprise risk management. He also serves on Vanguard’s Board of Directors. 

Previously, he was Principal and Global Head of Vanguard Fixed Income Group, responsible for its portfolio management, strategy, credit research, trading and planning functions. He also served as the company’s Asia-Pacific Chief Investment Officer and a Director of Vanguard Investments Australia. Mr. Davis is a member of the Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute and is a member of the Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. From 2016 to 2024, he was a member of the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.  

Mr. Davis earned his BS in Insurance from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia.
