The National Mental Health Crisis Is Affecting 4 in 10 Teens

A recent study by the CDC finds an alarming number of teenagers report feeling signs of depression. 4 in 10 teens reported feeling “persistently sad and hopeless,” and more than half of American teenagers said they suffered emotional abuse.

Rhonda C. Boyd, PhD, a psychologist in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, was on WHYY’s Radio Times discussing the mental health epidemic and the steps we’re taking to improve access to care.
