Philadelphia Inquirer and STAT News Highlight Novel Precision Medicine Treatment

When Daniel was 10 years old, he suddenly began to experience shortness of breath and severe swelling in his lower body. After going to his local hospital in Virginia, he was transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for further evaluation by experts in our Jill and Mark Fishman Center for Lymphatic Disorders where he was diagnosed with a severe and rare lymphatic condition. But thanks to an innovative, precision medicine treatment developed by a team of researchers at CHOP, including Dr. Yoav Dori and Dr. Hakon Hakonarson, Daniel, now 14, has been able to resume many normal activities like riding his bike and playing basketball.
