Many families are unaware of a service available to them through the Medical Assistance Transportation Program. This program is available to families in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware who are covered under Medicaid.
The Medical Assistance Transportation Program offers door-to-door medical transport to your child’s appointments at CHOP. We have many families that utilize this service, but did you know that the states of New Jersey and Delaware and many of the counties in Pennsylvania also offer a mileage reimbursement program if you use your own vehicle to drive to your child’s medical appointments? The reimbursement programs cover the cost of gas and may also cover your parking and tolls.
You will need to register with your local Medical Assistance Transportation Program prior to your child’s appointments and they can set you up with this helpful program. For more information about this resource, please contact the program in the area where you live.
