Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure Clinical Pathway — PICU
Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure Clinical Pathway — PICU
Goals
To standardize the approach to treating patients admitted to the PICU requiring inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) or the treatment of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (HFR).
Metrics
Decrease
- Patient hours on iNO
Balancing Measures
- Increased PICU length of stay
- Increased side effects from prolonged exposure to iNO
- Repeated initiations of iNO after expedited weaning
