Behavioral Concerns, Child Undergoing EEG Monitoring Clinical Pathway — Inpatient and Outpatient Specialty Care
Cohort
This pathway guides the care of children who require inpatient or outpatient EEG studies and have behavioral or aggression problems.
Children with the following may be at risk for agitation during EEG:
- Recent history of behavior concerns or aggression during medical procedures, including prior EEG studies or dental work.
- Recent history of aggression, agitation, or anxiety in medical settings.
- Diagnoses with increased risk: intellectual disability, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD/ADD, sensory disorders, or communication impairment.
