Neonatal Hyperammonemia Clinical Pathway — PICU and Emergency Department

Goals

Lower ammonia level by 50%, or lower ammonia level to < 500 within the first 24 hours of presentation

Metrics

  • Time from identification of increased ammonia level to first therapy
  • For the children requiring CRRT;
    • 90% with CRRT beginning within 4 hours of the decision within 12 months
