Room Closure Requirements

Airborne Infection Isolation Room, AIIR	Negative Pressure + engineering controls No additional exam room closure Keep door closed during patient visit Close exam room for 30 mins after patient discharge
Non-AIIR Rooms Standard Pressure	Ideally for patients with no symptoms receiving immunoglobulin No additional exam room closures Keep door closed during patient visit Close exam room for 2 hrs after patient discharge Follow normal process for managing airborne patients in non-AIIR room
Measles Symptoms Present	Prioritize use of AIIR rooms If non-AIIR room Move patients in adjacent rooms to other exam rooms as possible Adjacent rooms: Close during care of PUI (Person Under Investigation) Keep exam door closed Close 2 hrs after PUI discharge Close exam room of PUI for 2 hrs after discharge
