Children's Hospital of Philadelphia offers a variety of second opinion and remote consultation options for patient families.

Virtual medical record reviews (on-line consultations) may be available to patients who reside in certain states.  This option might allow a CHOP pediatric specialists to review a patient's medical records virtually in advance or in place of a potential hospital visit and provide a report to you and the patient’s treating physician.

We currently offer online review in the following areas:

  • Endocrinology
  • Gastroenterology (including VEO/IBD, pancreatic disorders, Celiac disease)
  • General Surgery
  • Infectious Disease
  • Nephrology (including kidney transplant)
  • Neurology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Oncology (including relapsed/refractory neuroblastoma, bone tumor, Leukemia, brain tumor)
  • Orthopedics (including sports medicine, spine, fractures/injuries)
  • Ophthalmology
  • Otolaryngology (ENT)
  • Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Pulmonology
  • Rheumatology
  • Urology (including Hypospadias)

Some programs offered may involve a fee. You may not be eligible for an online review based on the state you live in or the patient’s condition.
