Description

The Department of Genomic Diagnostics is interested in studying genetic/molecular testing results from patients who are diagnosed with cancer as confirmed by genetic testing done at CHOP. In addition to studying genetic testing results, we also ask patients if we may access their clinical data that is collected and stored at CHOP (i.e., notes from provider visits, treatment information, lab results, etc.).

The purpose of collecting this data and test results is to learn how genetic and/or molecular testing impacts clinical care such as cancer diagnosis, treatment decisions, and outcomes. This data would additionally be provided to researchers (both inside and outside of CHOP) studying the molecular makeup of cancer and potential treatments. In these efforts, we hope to accelerate the process of cancer research and discovery by making this a widely available resource.
