The goal of this research study is to learn more about how families manage mealtime and bedtime routines at home. We are enrolling primary caregivers (18+ years old) of children who are 4-10 years old that are on the autism spectrum or have Down Syndrome.

Participants will be compensated for their time. All participation is virtual.

Official title:
Exploring Child, Caregiver, and Family Factors that Influence Family Management of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Compared to Down Syndrome

What to expect

Participants will be invited to complete several surveys online about their child’s health and behavior, their health as the child’s primary caregiver, and their family. We expect that the online surveys will take less than 90 minutes.

Some participants will also be invited to participate in a virtual interview. In this interview, we will talk about how the family manages the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for their child. We expect that the interview will take about 60 minutes.

As a part of this study, we will access the child’s electronic medical record to view medical information that is necessary to understand the child’s condition.
