Center for Advanced Practice
The Center for Advanced Practice at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is committed to providing leadership, support and structure for all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at CHOP.
The Center includes many resources for all APPs including: professional development, scholarship and leadership, engagement, recruitment and retention, and serves to recognize the valuable role of APPs across the organization.

Who We Are
At CHOP, more than 600 APPs provide specialized, expert care to all patient populations at the hospital and within CHOP's Care Network.
Our Advanced Practice Providers
Two out of five Advanced Practice Providers at CHOP are Front Line Ordering Clinicians, responsible for the direct care and follow up of patients in collaboration with an attending physician.
APPs work in a variety of settings across the entire organization including the intensive care units (ICUs), inpatient medical and surgical units, operating rooms (ORs), Emergency Department (ED), all outpatient subspecialty clinics in the CHOP Care Network including primary care, urgent care and specialty care centers.

Recruiting and retaining the best APPs is a priority at CHOP and many of our staff have years of experience in their fields.
- Our team is experienced: 38 percent of our APPs have been practicing at CHOP for more than 10 years.
- Our team is growing: 62 percent of our APPs have been hired at CHOP within the past 10 years.
