Join our growing team

The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania are seeking several clinical faculty candidates to join our team. Driven by institutional growth and increased patient demand, we are expanding to further enhance care and access for families. Highlights of this growth include the opening of a new patient tower in 2028 at the Philadelphia campus, rising demand for consultative services at the Middleman Family Pavilion at CHOP, King of Prussia, and the continued expansion of specialized consultative services. 

The division provides care to children with a diverse spectrum of pulmonary and sleep disorders including through the Cystic Fibrosis Center, Sleep Center, Technology Dependence Center, Asthma Program, Lung Transplant Program, Thoracic Insufficiency Center, Interventional Pulmonary Program, and clinics for children with chronic lung disease of infancy, neuromuscular diseases, Interstitial Lung Disease, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, and other rare lung diseases. 

Positions may include inpatient and/or outpatient clinical services. The division houses a variety of well-established and growing clinical, research, and educational programs. Faculty are given dedicated time to achieve academic goals and opportunities for teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology and/or Sleep Medicine. 

Pediatric Pulmonology Physician Opportunities

Expertise is required in pulmonary medicine, with participation in academically based clinical programs. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified in pediatrics and board certified/eligible in pediatric pulmonology.  

Clinical responsibilities may include seeing patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings. There may also be opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives, medical education, and clinical or translational research. The division provides care to children with a diverse spectrum of pulmonary and sleep disorders including through the Cystic Fibrosis Center, Sleep Center, Technology Dependence Center, Asthma Program, Lung Transplant Program, Thoracic Insufficiency Center, Bronchoscopy/Aerodigestive Program, and clinics for children with chronic lung disease of infancy, neuromuscular diseases, Interstitial Lung Disease, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, and other rare lung diseases. 

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students at the Perelman School of Medicine as well as residents and fellows at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Teaching may take place in a variety of settings such as lecturing, small group, clinical and/or didactic sessions.

Pediatric Sleep Medicine Physician Opportunities 

Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible for Sleep Medicine. We welcome candidates whose primary certification is in pediatric pulmonology, child neurology, child and adolescent psychiatry, or pediatrics, and will support a balance of clinical time in those areas as desired, in conjunction with focus in sleep study interpretation and outpatient sleep clinic. 

The recruited member will join a well-established interdisciplinary, academic sleep medicine team consisting of sleep medicine physicians with background in pediatric pulmonology, child neurology, or child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as behavioral psychologists, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, registered nurses, and a social worker. Our clinic is complemented by our 22-bed pediatric sleep lab with locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. 

Faculty are active participants in the training of fellows in a variety of programs at CHOP and Penn, including a large ACGME-accredited sleep medicine fellowship. The Sleep Center has an active clinical research program, with collaborations across multiple Departments at CHOP and Penn, and a sleep and circadian biology research affinity group supported by the CHOP Research Institute.  

CHOP is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania and is located in Philadelphia, which is in close proximity to Washington, DC and New York City.
