Telehealth Pilot Program
Why is this important?
Certain primary care follow-up visits don’t have to happen in the office.
Video visits with a primary care doctor are an innovative way to see patients for follow-up care for specific conditions and reasons. Families can access video visits through their MyCHOP patient portal from their phone, tablet or home computer, making it an easy and convenient way to speak to their doctor without coming into the office.
We piloted follow-up video visits with physicians at CHOP Primary Care, HighPoint. Patients who needed a follow-up visit were asked if they wanted to schedule a video visit instead of coming back to the office for care. At the scheduled time, they met their doctor online and completed their visit.
What we learned
Families and their doctors had a positive video visit experience and have plans to expand the offering to more CHOP patients in the network.
