Possibilities Project: Innovation in Pediatric Primary Care

The Possibilities Project (TPP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is reimagining pediatric care delivery to improve patient health outcomes, enhance the patient/provider experience, and meet the future health needs of children and their families. By incubating and accelerating innovative ideas and harnessing the power of quality improvement, data analysis, and a strong primary care network, we create cutting-edge solutions to pediatric healthcare’s largest problems.

Our process

TPP leverages an innovation framework to identify, test, and scale projects across the Care Network. The learning and testing cycles enable our researchers to develop a theory for the underlying problems that are preventing progress. That theory becomes the foundation of a blueprint for how to initiate fully implementable solutions.

TPP projects are often initiated by our colleagues across the CHOP enterprise who come face to face with pediatric healthcare challenges every day. By partnering with TPP to incubate an idea or accelerate a project, you will gain access to several resources, including:

  • Definition of the problem
  • Development of value proposition
  • Disciplined approach to idea-creating process
  • Mentorship and guidance for implementation
  • Metrics of success and failure
  • Development of a business model

Testimonial

I have benefitted tremendously from the opportunity to collaborate with TPP. Through this partnership, we have implemented universal screening for common sleep problems at all well child visits in the CHOP Care Network. This partnership has given me the chance to work across clinical settings and teams more efficiently and effectively. In addition, this partnership has resulted in additional funded projects that build upon this foundational sleep screening work. Working with TPP has been a wonderful experience for me, both professionally and personally.
