Emergency Department Response Team

Crowding interferes with leadership and team behaviors and can affect patient care; thus it is important to limit the number of responders.

  • Team 1 and 2 Attendings and frontline ordering clinicians (FLOCs) alternate between resuscitations
  • Only members of the assigned team respond
Staff Numbers Description
2nd pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) Attending 1 Reviews Resuscitation Roles, who’s up for next resuscitation at the beginning of each shift
Fellow 1 If available
PEM Attending 1 Checks in to see if needed, dismisses unnecessary staff, checks in with team 1 or team 2 to assist with sick patients
  • Team 7 11a-11p
  • Teams 1 and 2 11p-11a
FLOC 2 From the assigned team only
