Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Management in Neonates Clinical Pathway — ICU and Inpatient
Patient Cohort
This pathway is for the evaluation and treatment of inpatient infants ≤ 56 days or preterm infants with corrected gestational age (CGA) of ≤ 48 weeks with suspected or confirmed urinary tract infection (UTI) diagnosis.
For febrile infants, use Febrile Infant Clinical Pathway
Exclusions
- Infants with immune deficiencies
- Infants with concomitant (suspected) sepsis, refer to the Sepsis, N/IICU Clinical Pathway — ICU and Inpatient
- Infants ≥ 56 days of age, or CGA of ≥ 48 weeks, refer to the Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), Clinical Pathway — All Settings
- Infants with Myelomeningocele (MMC) or congenital anomalies, refer to the Neonate with Myelomeningocele/Myeloschisis
- Infants with Congenital GU abnormalities, refer to the Neonates Presenting with Findings of Perinatal Urinary Tract Dilation
