About Chermiqua Tsosie
Chermiqua Tsosie, a proud member of the Navajo Nation, is currently a Clinical Research Assistant with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Indigenous Health Unit. Her passion for advocating for underserved populations was ignited when she participated in the Native American Research Internship (NARI) at the University of Utah during her undergraduate studies, where she contributed to pediatric trauma registry research in a low-resourced setting. Subsequently, she served as a Clinical Research Associate for the Strong Heart Study, a longitudinal cardiovascular study focused on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations. In this role, Chermiqua engaged with urban AI/AN communities to discuss Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. In her current position, she is committed to addressing the pediatric health needs of AI/AN communities and supporting AI/AN trainees entering the medical field, drawing on her prior experience working directly with these communities.
