Oct 13, 2018 from 7 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. (ET)

The Diabetes Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is offering a course for nurses practicing in a variety of sites where children with diabetes are entrusted to their care. Nurses who provide care to children in schools, homecare settings, primary care offices and behavioral health settings, and those involved in child protective services and case management will benefit from this workshop.

This course is designed to provide a solid foundation in current diabetes management. Topics to be reviewed will include: treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes; self-care management principles; understanding and using diabetes technology (insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems) to improve outcomes; and effect of psychosocial factors on children and families living with diabetes.
