Summer Camp for Pulmonary Hypertension Patients

Published on

Summer camp for pediatric pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients and kids who have had or are waiting for heart and lung transplants are held every year at Echo Hill Outdoor School (EHOS) Heart Camp. The experience is for children between the ages of 8 and 17 and eligibility is determined upon recommendation by a pediatric cardiologist and approval by the medical director.

Located on Maryland's eastern shore, EHOS school team members teach ecology and nature classes and lead campers in various activities including swimming, dancing, canoeing and more. The medical staff at camp is comprised of a volunteer group of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, therapists, psychologists and other healthcare staff. The team is on-hand to manage patients' treatments, monitor their health, and offer psychological support.

Contact your child’s cardiologist to assess if your child can attend camp.
