You may have heard The Vaccine Handbook by Gary Marshall, MD, referred to as “The Purple Book” because of the color of its cover. If you have not heard of it before, it is a great vaccine resource (previously reviewed in this column) and its small size makes it easy to carry around the office.

Now, it is even easier to carry around — right on your iOS devices. The free app allows users to search keywords, quickly access schedules, tables and links to outside sources. Available through a collaboration between the publisher and Sanofi Pasteur, registration as well as reporting under Open Payments is required. (Offer void in Minnesota.)

If you don’t have an iPhone or you prefer a copy of the book, you can order it today from the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC).

Materials in this section are updated as new information and vaccines become available. The Vaccine Education Center staff regularly reviews materials for accuracy.
