Cheers for CHOP Raises $610,000

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s fifth annual Cheers for CHOP raised $610,000 to benefit the Division of Orthopaedics.

Hundreds of donors, clinicians and friends of CHOP attended the event on February 24 at the Valley Forge Casino Resort and enjoyed a live performance by R&B/Pop trio En Vogue, one of the best female vocal groups of all time. Guests also sampled delicious food and drink and participated in an incredible silent auction. The evening was presented by Katie and Brian Hickey.

Proceeds from the event will support patient care, research and innovation within CHOP’s Division of Orthopaedics, one of the largest and most active pediatric orthopaedic centers in the world.

One of the fastest-growing fundraising events in the area, Cheers for CHOP is hosted annually by Friends of CHOP, a dynamic group of Philadelphia’s most social and philanthropic young influencers who are committed to vibrant fundraising efforts that support the Hospital’s mission of providing exemplary patient care, spearheading innovative research and sharing knowledge with the world.

“Every year, we look forward to this night where we can bring all of our friends together to support an incredible cause and make an impact in finding breakthroughs, big or small, for CHOP,” said Katy Friedland, President of Friends of CHOP and a CHOP Foundation Board of Overseers member.

“We were honored to be the new co-chairs of this exciting evening,” said Val and Geoff Gross, Co-chairs of Cheers for CHOP. “It’s an unbelievable feeling knowing this event will not only impact children treated in Philadelphia, but all over the world. We’re thrilled!”

Over the past four years, Cheers for CHOP has raised more than $2.3 million to benefit CHOP programs such as Pulmonary Medicine and Child Life.
