Cheers fir CHOP Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) fourth annual Cheers for CHOP raised more than $610,000 to benefit the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.

Hundreds of donors, clinicians and friends of CHOP attended the event on February 25 at the Valley Forge Casino Resort and enjoyed outstanding live entertainment by singer, beat boxer and DJ, Biz Markie and Washington, DC’s all-90s band, White Ford Bronco. Guests also sampled delicious food and drink and participated in an incredible silent auction. The evening was presented by The Raymond Family, in memory of Timothy J. Raymond.

“We are extremely grateful to the organizers and attendees of this year’s event,” said CHOP president and CEO Madeline Bell.  “Their efforts will directly benefit the patients that experience breathing challenges and support the efforts of their families and caregivers.”

“It is a tremendous feeling to bring all of our friends together to address the needs of sick children, not only here in our backyard, but across the country and around the globe through CHOP’s work in this area,” said Katy Friedland, President of Friends of CHOP and a CHOP Foundation Board of Overseers member.

Dr. Samuel Goldfarb, medical director of the Lung Transport Program, and his wife Jennifer One of the fastest-growing fundraising events in the area, Cheers for CHOP is hosted annually by Friends of CHOP, a dynamic group of Philadelphia’s most social and philanthropic young influencers who believe in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and are committed to advancing its research, teaching and clinical priorities through vibrant fundraising efforts. Proceeds from this year’s event benefit CHOP’s Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, whose care for respiratory conditions is top-ranked in the nation.
