Susan Furth Receives 2023 Excellence in Care Award from National Kidney Foundation

Earlier this month, Susan Furth, MD, PhD, Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute, received the 2023 Excellence in Care Award from the National Kidney Foundation.
Furth was recognized for her work in improving the lives of patients. Formerly the Chief of the Division of Nephrology at CHOP, Furth treated patients and conducted research focused on slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease in children.
Over the course of her career, Furth contributed to the development of guidelines for the foundation and helped establish a Pediatric Risk Calculator to help clinicians assess kidney disease progression in children.
