The Tallahassee Democrat Reports on Florida Fetal Surgery Patient

Published on

When Sunil thinks back to when he and his wife Emily first learned their unborn son Jayant had spina bifida, he remembers their referring physician back home in Florida immediately saying the word “Philadelphia.” It was in that moment, the couple began making preparations to temporarily relocate in order to be closer to the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. Jayant underwent fetal surgery two days after their arrival to close the opening in his back. Nearly three months later, Jayant was born in the Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports on this family’s amazing story.
