Transfer Requests from Outside Hospital, Eligibility for Delayed Outpatient Procedure and Image Transfer Process

Children will be accepted for transfer if the referring clinician prefers that the child/family be evaluated urgently.

Referring Hospital
CHOP ED Coordinator
  • Initiates electronic image transfer request
  • Transport Comm Specs assist as needed
EMCP
  • Ensures
    • OSH uploads images, per instructions, link above
    • Communication with Orthopedics regarding child's eligibility for delayed procedure
  • Enters order for 2nd read of X-ray
  • Completes referral to Orthopedics
    • Use ED Fracture Discharge Smart Set
    • Use referral order

  • Reviews fracture image, clinical information to determine eligibility
  • Reviews clinical information with the OSH Referring Clinician
  • Books the case for the OR
