Scheduling an Appointment with Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-Language Pathology offers evaluations for speech and language, stuttering, voice, and augmentative communication. A comprehensive, individualized evaluation is performed, after which the SLP will develop a plan that can be used to pursue treatment through early intervention, in school, or with a provider close to the family’s home. Outpatient therapy at CHOP may also be recommended.
You may have a speech and language evaluation at any of the locations where we offer care. If therapy is recommended, you may also request speech-language therapy services at a different site that may be more convenient.
An interpreter will be provided for patients and/or caregivers who speak a language other than English or who speak multiple languages. This is an essential part of our program and allows us to most effectively assess the child’s language skills across all languages to which they have exposure.
Please contact your insurance provider(s) to verify your insurance benefits/coverage. Speech-language evaluations and/or therapy may or may not be a covered benefit for certain insurance plans. Learn more about billing and insurance.
