The Thrombosis Program, part of the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), is one of the nation’s premier programs for safe and effective management of anticoagulation (use of blood thinners), thromboprophylaxis (prevention of blood clots) and general hematologic care to children and adolescents.

We provide accurate diagnoses, using the latest testing and imaging studies, and expert treatment to prevent and manage blood clots in children and adolescents.

We offer your family:

  • Comprehensive education about blood clots
  • Emotional support
  • Access to physical therapy
  • Help in identifying barriers to care and strategies to overcome any barriers
  • Support and advocacy for patients through communication with schools, employers and insurance companies
