In this ADVANCE for Nurses article, Diane L. Spatz, PhD, RN-BC, FAAN, director of CHOP’s Lactation Program, discusses the essential role that nurses play in providing mothers and expectant mothers with the education and tools they need for breastfeeding success.

According to Spatz, “We have to create support networks for women … It is our job, as nurses, to be there every step of the way for both mother and baby."
