The Pediatric Thyroid Center at CHOP cares for local, regional, national and international patients. Each year, the center evaluates approximately 200 new patients with thyroid nodules, performs more than 70 thyroid surgeries, and manages approximately 100 active cases of thyroid cancer.

Staff work closely with families and patients to make sure they fully understand the diagnosis and treatment and to answer any questions. A social worker is involved in caring for families, and child life specialists provide expertise and support in the psychological aspects of coping with disease.
