Surgeons from the Hand Transplantation Program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia were the first to perform a bilateral hand transplant in a child. The patient, a young boy named Zion Harvey, has required significant occupational and physical therapy throughout his recovery.
CHOP’s rehabilitation team played a crucial role in Zion's recovery in an article published in Advance for Occupational Therapy Practitioners, titled “Historic Double Hand Transplant.”
