The Lutheran Settlement House recently interviewed Madeline Bell, who is the first woman president and CEO of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, about women in leadership. Bell sat down with the LSH on the heels of their annual Women of Courage Award Ceremony, which honored Karen Hudson of CHOP’s Homeless Health Initiative.

Bell reflected on her own professional journey, what it’s like being one of the few women CEOs in the Philadelphia area, setting an example for young women learning how to navigate their careers, and how she strives to be an impactful leader. She also discussed Hudson’s inspiring advocacy work and how the Homeless Health Initiative is making a difference under her leadership.
