Motility Education Day 2017 Recap

Published on in CHOP News

Motility Education Day 2017 was held on Apr. 30, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. The topic for the discussion was Living with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

The day was centered around the mission of the Motility Center at CHOP to promote community education by providing our CHOP families with evidence-based lectures by respected experts within the field. The Suzi and Scott Lustgarten Motility Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) strives to provide children and caregivers with education related to chronic GI issues and holds an annual Motility Education Day.

Both the medical, psychological and social implications of IBS and the importance of a comprehensive approach to symptom management were presented during the day. Children in attendance were provided the opportunity to attend interactive age-specific lectures and to learn through play with CHOP child life specialists.
