King of Prussia In 2021, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will open its first-ever inpatient hospital outside the City of Philadelphia. This new King of Prussia facility will offer a CHOP-caliber pediatric emergency department as well as surgical and intensive care units, combined with sophisticated diagnostic and imaging capabilities — giving many more children access to the same world-class hospital care available on CHOP’s Main Campus.

Extending exceptional care

CHOP is already serving families with its Specialty Care & Surgery Center and after-hours Urgent Care in King of Prussia, one of the fastest-growing communities in the Philadelphia suburbs. The addition of a new hospital will revolutionize pediatric healthcare for the entire region.

The details

The new, 250,000-square-foot hospital will provide advanced pediatric care closer to home for families living throughout the Philadelphia suburbs. The new facility will include:

  • A 36-bed medical surgical unit
  • A 16-bed pediatric intensive care unit
  • An operating suite
  • Orthopaedics, plastic surgery, and ear, nose and throat specialties
  • An emergency department
