In 2021, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will open its first-ever inpatient hospital outside the City of Philadelphia. This new King of Prussia facility will offer a CHOP-caliber pediatric emergency department as well as surgical and intensive care units, combined with sophisticated diagnostic and imaging capabilities — giving many more children access to the same world-class hospital care available on CHOP’s Main Campus.
Extending exceptional care
CHOP is already serving families with its Specialty Care & Surgery Center and after-hours Urgent Care in King of Prussia, one of the fastest-growing communities in the Philadelphia suburbs. The addition of a new hospital will revolutionize pediatric healthcare for the entire region.
The new, 250,000-square-foot hospital will provide advanced pediatric care closer to home for families living throughout the Philadelphia suburbs. It will also offer easier access to CHOP doctors, nurses and specialists for people living in Lancaster, Berks and Lehigh counties in Pennsylvania, as well as southern and central New Jersey and Delaware. The new facility will include:
- A 36-bed medical surgical unit
- A 16-bed pediatric intensive care unit
- An operating suite
- Orthopaedics, plastic surgery, and ear, nose and throat specialties
- An emergency department
- Comprehensive radiology services
Help us create a healthier future
