Parent Education Night: Managing Anxiety Around Food Allergies was held on Dec. 5, 2019 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). More than 130 people attended or live-streamed the event.

The goal of the event was to help parents and caregivers of children with food allergies address their many concerns about their children’s physical and psychological safety, and the stress of coping with food allergies.

The event was led by Katherine Dahlsgaard, PhD, Director of the Food Allergy Bravery Clinic at CHOP’s Food Allergy Center, and members of the Allergy clinical staff.

Caregivers learned scientifically backed strategies to help families navigate the world more confidently. Attendees learned how to:

  • Help children manage anxiety
  • Assess risks accurately
  • Live a full life while keeping their child safe and healthy
