CHOP was honored to help kick off the Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America at a series of events in Philadelphia on June 4-5. 

The Special Olympics World Games begin July 25 and are being held in Los Angeles, CA, this year, so the Flame of Hope is now making its way across the country. 

CHOP patient and Special Olympics athlete John Rosati of New Jersey carried the torch during the first segment of the June 5 relay which started at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. 

CHOP was a Community Partner for the Unified Relay, with representatives and employees participating in various parts of the event including Meg Jones, CHOP chief administrative officer; Peter Grollman, CHOP vice president; and Stephanie Rosati-Pratico, program manager of CHOP’s Trisomy 21 Program, who is also John’s mom.
