Division of Rheumatology
Experts in the Division of Rheumatology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provide your child with the most current and comprehensive care for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and other rheumatic diseases that typically affect bones, muscles and joints. We also consult on patients with undiagnosed multisystem diseases and those with unexplainable fever.
Our division’s specialized programs and clinics seek to improve the quality of care by integrating treatment across multiple specialty areas into one patient visit. Our clinics minimize the number of medical visits a family must schedule throughout the year and increase multidisciplinary communication across specialists.
We offer intra-articular corticosteroid injections to patients to treat arthritic joints and can also arrange referrals for physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychiatry and pain management.
