At CHOP, our Diabetes Center team knows that the best diabetes management happens when we treat the whole child. Being a child or teen is not always easy – and adding diabetes to the mix of school, activities, friends and family life can add a lot of stress. This is perfectly normal, and all kids and families struggle with the emotional side of the diagnosis. We call this the psychosocial aspects of having a chronic disease.
