Intestinal Rehabilitation Program
The Intestinal Rehabilitation Program (IRP) treats children with bowel disorders that affect their ability to grow and develop. A coordinated team of gastroenterologists, surgeons and nutritionists provide long-term care to children with short or malformed intestines.
Born prematurely with an enlarged area on his upper intestine, Jack was diagnosed with multiple jejunal atresia. Though it occurs only 1 in 3,000 live births, the expert team at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia knew how to treat his rare condition.
Our experienced team of gastroenterologists, general surgeon, nurses and nutritionists are experts in treating children with short bowel syndrome and intestinal failure. We provide complete and individualized care for your child.
