Practical Approaches to Primary Care Pediatric Dermatology

Overview

This is the biennial Pediatric Dermatology for the Practitioner Course given every other year since 1980. The course is intended for practicing clinicians who care for children including, but not limited to, pediatricians, dermatologists, family practitioners, general practitioners, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians-in-training and other allied healthcare professionals. Other specialists are welcome to attend. Participants will receive current information on dermatologic disorders in neonates, children and adolescents. Highlights of the course include:

  • State-of-the-art information on pediatric skin diseases
  • Case-based panel discussions regarding treatment strategies for common skin-related disorders

Objectives

  1. Diagnose and manage common pediatric skin disorders, such as atopic dermatitis, acne, hemangiomas, as well as common skin infections like warts and molluscum
  2. Discuss recent developments that will help the participant identify and recognize potential complications with infantile hemangiomas
  3. Review current understanding regarding issues associated with COVID-19 and vaccination against SARS-COV2
