CHOP bereaved caregivers and adult siblings are invited to our Yoga & Grief series, which focuses on the many ways grief affects your body, mind and spirit in the aftermath of an unimaginable loss. In Thursday evening sessions in February and March, learn tools and practices to help soothe the nervous system, calm the mind, and regulate functions like sleep cycles, metabolism and more. The four-week practice includes breathing techniques, gentle movement, including yin yoga (passive stretching) and some standing poses, meditation, and self-guided relaxation. This class is facilitated by the very compassionate and gentle Corina Benner. No previous yoga experience is required, and the practice is accessible to everyone. Yoga blocks and meditation cushions are suggested, but easy substitutes are throw blankets and some small pillows. Registration is required, and as a way to create a calm and connected (virtual) environment, we are limiting this event to 25 families.
We encourage you to attend all four sessions, but understand if your schedule won't allow that.
