At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- State at least one potential complication that may occur in children with each of the following pieces of technology :
- tracheostomy
- CSF shunt
- Enteral tube, and
- Central venous catheter.
- Discuss ways that parents and home care nurses are important partners in the care of children assisted by technology
- List at least three ways to assess the patency of tracheostomy tube.
- Explain how to replace a gastrostomy tube.
